No need to turn the air conditioner before turning off the engine. When you turn off the engine, and remove the key, everything is off. I have a 1997 Honda Civic with a manual air-conditioner with 247000+ miles, nothing happen. If I need full power to the engine, all of my car accessories are turn off, after that I can use them after the engine is running.

It's probably a good practice to get in the habit of. Do you turn the light switch off when you leave the house? If you leave the A.C. switch on then when you start the engine this puts a load on the compressor clutch, which forces it to engage and run the compressor. If nothing else it's hard on the serpentine belt that drives the A.C..

Yes, turn everything you have to the "off" position before shutting off your car, that way it doesn't put unnecessary strain on your battery when you start it back up. This is especially true of people who live in cold climates and need all the cold cranking amps your battery can deliver, or for those of us in hotter climates we need all the power we can muster to run our AC.

no, the a/c runs off the engine. when the engine is off so is the a/c. it will just start running again the next time you start the car. the computer will disengage the a/c system until the engine is up and running. no harm will come from leaving the a/c in the on position.

no its no longer real and approximately saving gas with your a/c off its additionally no longer real except you have your homestead windows closed. once you open your homestead windows you're arising an air drag requiing your engine to make extra tension for this reason dropping extra gas universal you waste the comparable quantity of gas with ac off or on except your a penny pincher you may keep one million cent on the gallon ??? thats an entire diffrent subject.
