With a modest 6 or 8 inch telescope there are thousands of deep sky objects you can see, especially if you have or can get to dark skies. Also in the thousands are double stars, some of which move fast enough to change noticeably from one year to the next. The moon is different every night, as the angle of illumination changes. Jupiter rotates in 10 hours, has four moons that transit, eclipse, and generally move around, plus the belts and spots change gradually over time. The sun changes constantly, some events developing in a matter of minutes. If want to do something scientific you can chart the variations of variable stars. There are also asteroids moving around, and a constant stream of comets to observe or even discover.

So, if you become bored with astronomy, it won't be for lack of things to look at.

If I had a telescope I would have been naughty and watched something you shouldn't be watching.Maybe I would have tried my luck and seen if could find some stars in the sky.At a closer glance it would have been exiting.

You can get a solar filter and point it at the sun. You can watch the rotation of jupitor over the course of a few hours (it rotates very fast). It all depends on how good your scope is and how much light pollution there is where you live.
