Titanic is my favorite movie she died in her sleep just like Jack wanted if you remember he said I want you to die an old lady comftorable in your warm bed promise me that and she promised him so at the end she dies no pain in her warm bed just like she promised and if you look around everyone there is people who died so they got to meet once again in heaven.

It's got that cloudy, filmy appearance around it to let others know she's dreaming. I think! :) Heaven will be crystal clear! :)
Interesting, X, I'll have to watch that again & see what your saying. :)
Interesting catch there, Chicken. I catch things like that, too, and...
Also, remember how she confided in Jack that she felt as if she was surrounded by a room full of people, screaming, & no-one noticed her? Well, at the end she is happy, surrounded by a room full of people clapping for her.
I like the sort of history telling part of the movie & the awesomeness of the ship but...
I don't like the so-called love story. The way that she goes about breaking it off with her fiance. Then the writers write up that Cal tries to shoot them just so that he can look bad when all along up to that point, he was really more the victim. And Rose & Jack looked bad. :( JMHO.
Cal treated her like a princess. Yes, he had a character flaw where he could be accused of being controlling. BUT, if she couldn't reciprocate being in love with him, she coulda went about calling it off in a respectful way. :-) Could of she? Or did they have her soo trapped like Jack said that doing something drastic was the only way to get them to see she was screaming inside? I guess Cal knew, as he told her to open her heart to him. And she had confided to her Mom how she felt. They maybe woulda just kept playing her as a puppet if she had not cut the strings beyond the "we can just tie 'em back up" point. ;-)*
Good question! This is exactly why Titanic won awards. Gets people raving about it.
Tanti's below answer is interesting about the Grand Staircase & it being her Stairway to Heaven.
Interesting but this is only fiction to me.

From Ruined Endings: At the very end, we are left with an image of Rose asleep, then a cut to young Rose meeting Jack at the Grand Staircase, leading us to believe she has died and this is her heaven.

I've always gone with the heaven theory because if you look at all the people that are standing around, it's all the other people that died.

she dies that's why she threw the heart back becuse that's where it truley belonged that is probably the top reason she went back to tell her story before she passed away.....and you know Jack tells her she will do all those things in the picture PLUS die in a warm bead.

There really is no way to be sure, but most have interpreted it as her dying.
