I think everyone would be happier without all this holiday stuff shoved down our throats. Everyone can reflect on their holiday of choice in the privacy of their own homes with their families

MATERIALISM, CAPITALISM AND GREED is what CHRISTmas is now about, well, since t.v. was created. no one is happy at christmas, it's just greed and selfishness taking over. to protest is by not buying things at stores and make or give someone you love something from the heart!!! that is what i do and people respect that. in north america, people are to into buying things and the belief that by going in debt they are doing something good. PROTEST BY NOT BUYING CRAP!!!

Then do it that way, and miss out on the reason for the season. It is a holiday for those of us who are believer's in Christ to have a day when we celebrate His birth. You don't have to if you don't want to, and you can do without the very reason you were given life on this planet. Remove all of the happiness and joy of life, the blessings, the love, all of the good stuff....and go your way. It is completely your choice. Then there will be more of the good stuff for the rest of us to enjoy, plus Heaven too!...

I agree...Of all the seasons, Christmas is the worst for gaudy, wasteful decorating, greedy commercialism and financial indeptedness. The Christmas season a period when most suicides happen and a general feeling of inadequacy seems to flood the American population. It is supposed to be a time of great happiness but all the happiness is so contrived and money based that it is actually, in all reality and honesty, a time of great depression for most of the population. All the "hoop-la" is designed to cover up the underlying sadness and disappointment that so many people feel.

I would join your fight against the Psudo-Christmas so many people are playing these days.

And for your religious fanatics who think Christmas is about Christ...it has very little to do about religion and everything to do with commercialism. Get real...get honest with yourselves!!! If you can't be happy with simplicity, you can't be happy with the biggest, gaudiest tree in the neighborhood either. You won't be any happier but you sure will be a lot poorer come January.

I understand your feelings but most of the world revolves around Christmas apart from countries that do not celebrate Christmas.Christmas has been around for centuries. Apart from hibernating you will just haveto put up with it.

You can always take a trip to another country where they don't celebrate Christmas...like Irag or Iran. Or...you can ignore the celebration and don't participate in any of the festivties. it's a shame, though, because you are missing a truly beautiful time of joy, peace and wonderment!

Quit your job and go on a nation-wide campaign. I'm sure you'll be successful in bringing down the best-loved time of year for almost all Americans.
