First make sure you have a copy of the operating system on hand, or else you will have a useless PC until you get one. Then you need to format, partition and reload your operating system. It is pretty easy to do and only takes about an hour. If you have the disk just put it in and re start, you may have to enter BIOS and set the boot options to CD-ROM. then delete your current partitions. if everything goes well you will have a brand new OS but you may have to install a few programs and updated drivers to get back on line. Good luck

I would get my setup disk and find fdisk on it. then remove all DOS partitions. Then set a new partition and format the disk with the transfer of the system so that it will boot to the hard drive not a real problem and it would be a complete wipe and be like starting with a fresh drive. You can of course use the windows disk put it in your cd drive and re boot. then say new install and use whole disk and it will format it automatically. Then re set up windows for you. Don't forget to update all of your programs in windows after your done.
