well that's not a good idea. most homeless people are homeless because they screwed up their life. they do not deserve a home of their own.

Your thesis statement depends on what you are writing. If it is informative you would say:

"Today I am going to explain the consequences of building a housing development in an endangered wildlife refuge."

A persuasive would be more like:

"Today I am going to show you that there are no circumstances where it is okay to further endanger animal life in a wildlife refuge, even if it would help those in our current society."

Topic sentences are just the reasons you have to support your thesis statement. For number two you could say:

1. Biodiversity is key to saving our planet
2. There are alternate solutions to homes for the homeless
3. It is illegal to build on a wildlife refuge.

I hope that helps!

A good thesis statement would be "Kill one to save another", or try "Can one wrong make a right?", maybe use "There has to be better options". Either one of these is going to lead you to an "A" on that paper honey. It's a controversial topic any way you look at it.
