How about if you obtained the appearance of one piano entertainer? Not anyone that big that would cost a fortune we're talking someone local who will be willing to donate their appearane and at the same time obtain a tax write off before the end of the year.
Any entertainer or person in the music industry could fill the bill its the knowledge to be shared that would make it enjoyable and knowledgeable at the same time.
Having an open question/answer time before or after the appearance would be the key element. That is where the students would benefit from the persons experience.
It might sound strange but it certainly would be a tradition that surpasses all others.
...........think about it..............

Musical snowglobes? If you have a Hobby Lobby near you, they have a nice assortment of them and often have them on sale at half price. Small music boxes that play a classical piece? A biography of a famous musician or composer? Paperweights with a musical theme? I have also seen some nice winter scarves that look like a piano keyboard.Treble clef jewelry? If all else fails...cookies and they could be decorated with a musical theme but made Christmasy with the addition of a candy holly sprig.

That would not be any Christmas if there is on gift giving. The true Christmas should be at the same day of Easter. The birth of Jesus had been changed by the old Catholic Churches to celebrate the harvest time and the time for taxation. Hence, the Christmas had been changed to the Santa's day. ( Some countries actually called that day as the St. Nicholas' day)

Christmas socks or musical Christmas ornaments (not the expensive ones, just related to music). Or if you are looking for something music-related, and if you are arts and crafts-oriented, you can make fabric-covered binders using a music-themed fabric and a hot glue gun with quilt batting, that the students can keep their lesson notes and assignments in, or if they are into composing, you can put three-hole punched manuscript paper in. Good question.

You could do Christmas ornaments with music themes, a piano, music notes, sheet music etc. and if possible, have the year engraved. Just a thought. Good luck!

You could give them sheet music of their favorite song or band. Might even get them to practice more often.
