Why doesn't anyone know anything about Japan in WW2? Everything is always Nazi, Nazi...?

Hitler got alot of his ideas re: eugenics from the Japanese...some historians would argue that Japan was more ruthless than the Nazis, and that they indeed started WW2 by attacking China/Korea.
And now Japan is going to be given the OK for a NUCLEAR PROGRAM when its government DENIES all of the atrocites they committed. Imagine if the German government today denied the Holocaust and went to burial grounds where 1st class Nazi criminals were buried. I don't think so. What if German textbooks today omitted Aushwitz, Dacchau? Sorry, but I hate the god&amn Japs for not living up to their responsibilities as a nation. Apparently this is acceptable behavior for the American government, because the only pressure being put on Japan is from Asian countries...there is finally a movie being made (British/Chinese co-op) that details the Rape of Najing, 300,000 slaughtered in a few days...'awards' were given to those Japanese soldiers with the most kills at the end of the day...

Uh yeah they killed people by making them drink water/gas until they burst. They wouldn't let anyone throw the bodies away to emphasize how everyone should be afriad of them. Dogs became fat from eating the bodies. They impaled babies on bayonets. They has killing contests that were endlessly upped from 100-150 because they lost track of how many people they had killed. They set fire to people's pubic hair with gas to see who would run farthest/scream loudest. They didn't pay any reparations for what they did, in fact they received aid from the US. Also members of the imperial family were involved in the actual battles.

The reason Nazis are more infamous, is because Germany doesn't try to hide the fact, because everyone already knows, and has set out to make amends. Amends being keeping the people of their country informed about it, in hopes of avoiding similar thinkings again. After all, they did start the war. Japanese Text-books don't mention much of things like the Rape of Najing as we only have a paragraph on the likes of Hiroshima in ours. Most countries don't try to publicize the atrocities they commit, US included. Yet, Stalin was actually much worse than Hitler and Tojo. Settle down buddy we can trust Japan.

it was in the fact the world war one was with germany and hitler was the instigator of world war two and is just an oversight that you percieve this as a miss guided conclusion some how. if you read anything today it may be what ever the writer was intending to show. the war is over and gone, how to make u c we have moved on to other more pressing issues. there are was to deal with your feelings, try mine-my step father was given bronze stsar for freeing and feeding the phillpinos, and was given a silver star for arming them and helping them fight back to regain their island, but actually aren't both of these races oriental, one was a victum the other the opressor, nice people get stuck in bad wars all the time, otherwise we would u-235 nuclear

Japan didn't deny Nanjing, only a portion of Japanese does.
But how you can kill 300,000 ppl? even the population of Nanjing was 200,000.
You need exact data when you talk world history and accuse certain nation.

About the history books in Japan. There are more than 100 kinds of books there. Each school can select whatever they want.
Few private publishing company change the contents according to its decision, however, most schools haven't selected the book actually. Because revised history book is worthless.
This is very different from China.
How many kinds of school books in China? Maybe one. Controled info by the communist party?
And they haven't mentioned the Tibet invasion in their book.

Well, I know a lot. Father-in-law shot by Japanese in Phillipines (he's a Filipino). Great Uncle got stabbed twice by Japanese and fought there for two years in the worst gut wrenching war imaginable. Hand to hand combat he says for weeks on end and he has the proof of it - many swords, knives he kept from those he fought.

Japanese are a very proud country and culture. I think they have taken their focus on the empire buidling of their forefathers from destruction to building a empire in the business, technical and automotive world. That satisifies those desires and needs of their culture to dominate as they do in many of those areas.

We are safe and Japan is an OUTSTANDING partner.

you seem to have forgotten about the US firebombing of tokyo that killed 100,000 civillians (in one night, i believe). you also seem to have forgotten that many of the top nazi officials ended up in the cia (project paperclip). there's just as much blood on the hands of america as anyone else...
