Goliad is your answer. The battle at the Alamo has never been officially referred to as a massacre.

The Dawson Massacre was a part of the larger battle of Salado, when Mexico invaded six years after the Texas Revolution.

Its the Dawson massacre, and the way it happened was 36 TEXANS were killed by 400 to 500 MEXICANS by cannon at the Battle of Salado Creek outside San Antonio, Texas on September 18, 1842. No chainsaws were reported being used that day, lol

There was actually two such massacres during the Texas war of independence from Mexico in the 1800's
The first was Colonel Fanin's men at Goliad after they surrendered to the Mexican Army under to promise of allowing them to go home. They were marched out and all executed and thrown in a swallow ditch. that has been called the Golaid Massacre and Fanin's Massacre.
The second was at the battle of the Alamo where Colonel William Travis' men fought to the death against the Mexican Army. After holding out of thirteen days, THE THIRTEEN DAYS OF GLORY! By holding out for thirteen days it gave General Sam Houston time to get his Army organized. Hence he was able to defeat the Mexican Army at the Battle of San Jacinto capturing General Santa Ana which gave The Republic of Texas it's independence from Mexico.
the Alamo was the most famous of the two. And the battle cry REMEMBER THE ALAMO still rings today in the hearts of true native Texans.
