True Friendships, do not require full time hanging. this person has a problem you are not equipped to deal with. try to wean this person off, or better yet, be honest about your feelings. If said nicely, that person will respect you for your honesty, and if not, they were not a true friend in the first place. "Friends" do not need to be together constantly. Because you are concerned, you truly are a real friend. Way to Go. and good luck

Make sure the friend understands what you are going to do instead and also stagger the times spent with them so they don't get used to the idea of being your koala bear. If they want to change, they will; if not, try to forget it about them unless you're not really that great of friends and just want to spend even less time....

you've got to set limits. he needs your friendship, but what about you? what about what you want? you could try talking to him, telling him that you want to hang out but not all the time. or, you could introduce him to some other people and help him get more friends so he'll be off your back. make sure that whatever you do, you do it gently or subtly so that he doesn't get hurt.
