why did DIEBOLD turn off their vote-stealing software?

The software, if done properly, would not hack the vote so dramatically that the people would all obviously see the flaws and cry foul. an example would be a Republican sweep in Democratic strongholds like NY, MA or RI, or a Democratic sweep in Utah. They would, instead, make the software only shift, say, 4% of the vote in one direction or the other.
In this way the exit polls would be "close" but not so far off that questions would be warranted.

This year voter turn out was so strong, that the swing was to weak to pivot most of the key elections that were targeted.

Problems surfaced in Ohio, Florida, Missouri, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and other states, and the party in power in those states can be blamed. This isn't just a Republican problem. All voters need to stand up and make sure that their vote matters and that their vote counts!

Get with the program, ignoramous. There never WAS any vote-stealing software! It was a PLOY in case you libs LOST the election AGAIN!

They never had a vote stealing machine as you know.
There have been "watchers" at every election since the 1970s.
I have been one of them for many years for my party.

Well because they knew you CSI crime solver was on to them. Way to go you saved the election for 2006.....well you won anyway but man you are so on them now its crazy good job.
