Video games don't really make people violent, its how they react to the violence in them that does.

I think too many violent movies, TV shows, video games, etc., can help in the desensitization of children, but I do not think they make children violent. I have studied psychology for years now and I am a firm believer that parenting is what causes youth to know the difference between right and wrong, real and fake. If a parent watches violent television with their child in moderation, and explains that it's not real, or it's a portrayal of something bad or wrong, then I think the child will grow to understand that. I, myself, had very caring parents who raised me well. I watched rated R movies from about 13 or 14 years old and have played video games all my life. Yet, I am not violent or angry. It all goes back to parenting.

I don't think so. I grew up playing the violent type of games and so did my brother. The parents of kids need to either not let their kids play games/watch violent things, and also make sure their kids know the difference between right and wrong

No, its their parents that aren't disiplining their kids well. If they are disipline well, when they play the game, they won't react to it. I play violent games all the time, but I'm not anywhere violent. Those stupid kids are giving us a bad name.
