Two days ago I was called in early to work because a co-work called and said she had pink eye. Tonight she came to work to pick up tips and her eyes were clear no redness at all and she had heavy eye liner and mascara on. I asked her if she had went to the Dr and she no that she got and over the counter med and that hopefully she would be able to work tomorrow. I feel like I have been taken advantage off as anyone that has had pink eye would, it wouldnt clear up like that in 2 days with out a perscription. So do I bring this to my managers attention? and if so how do I do that? This isnt the first time she has called in sick either.

It should be standard management policy that sick days be excused with a doctors note ect.

I would not get involved in that side but I would bring it up during
next meeting ect as to how management does deal with calling in sick and people abusing sick policy.

some people will never grow up.
some need to be written up...

how can one get sick just before work always....
not during holidays..
not on weekends==
just on mondays fridays

paydays..

If she is a liar your boss will get tired of it and she will be gone. Did she pick up the tips split she was not there to earn any part of? That would be the only thing I would ask for the current policy about. Do not even mention her by name or the lame sick excuse. Just say you need clarification. If you hate the answer look to secure another job and move on.

This has nothing to do with your coworker.
Your boss called you in to start work early. IF you were available, you said yes. Her work ethic is between her and the boss. If the boss asks you to work extra hours and you are not available, say no. And don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong.

companies have rules regarding sick leaves, so that will be our deciding factor there. if she is using up all her sick leaves like it's begining to be a habit, then it's time to let your manager know that there is something wrong. if the need arises, you can write a letter to your manager stating your observations.
