Thank you for your question.

The Old World was Asia, Africa and Europe. The Americas were the New World. The terms date from late in the 15th century from soon after Columbus voyage.

Australia, Oceania and Antarctica are in neither category as they were discovered later.

the old world was across the ocean Europe and Asia and, i think, Africa.

the new world was the Americas
