The assertion that there is something beyond our reality depends on the assumption that there is a god. If you take him out of the equation, then our reality is the only one there is, except of course there is a hyper-reality, as string theory claims, which intermingles with ours and to which we remain ignorant. But we can never wake up to that reality. It would take some radical transformation in our structure for that to happen, something on the level of making a goldfish capable of flight. So, if there is a hyperspace, humans will be able to detect it at some point in the future, but won't be able to participate in it, barring some radical alteration in our definition of "human." We will be able to detect its shadows instead.

Assuming that you will ever wake up from this reality, what you find will be real to you. But, who decided that this reality is something you can wake up from?

what do you mean by this reality? probably whatever you mean by "this 'reality'" will include whatever you find when you "wake up" (whatever you mean by "wake up").

Life outside the cave, and boy is it bright!
That is an allusion to Plato in case you were wondering.
