Thing is if Bush had let the Shiites fight the insurgents/terrorists right after the Iraqi elections (2 years ago!) he would have saved over 2500 US troops lives. But he just couldn't let Muslims (Iraqi Shiites) take credit for winning the war on terror in Iraq. Such a same.

There are 35 million Iraqis about 23 million of those are Shiites and the rest are Sunni or Kurds. The majority Iraqi Shiites (who actully know what insurgents/terrorists look like) would be targeting ONLY the Sunni's who are insurgents and/or foreign terrorists. The main problem with the US military in Iraq is the only way they know who a insurgent or terrorist is is if they are shooting at them. Otherwise the insurgents/terrorists can walk right past our troops as long as they don't show their weapons and that is what makes it impossible for the US to win this war.

I doesn't matter Sunnis or Shiites win with the war.Are both are enemies of each other, but they are both Muslims. USA is considered enemies of the both Sunnis or Shiites. The USA cannot control killings of the Sunnis or Shiites. And in few years who ever in Leadership in Iraq will turn on USA(majority of population Non-Muslims) The only thing they can do is control the Oil, IRAQ OR IRAN really they do not need the Oil. Europe is depended on the Oil, Europeans Countries will collapse if not for Middle Eastern Oil. Why Sadaam blow up Oil Fields in Kuwait??????
It is more Europeans War than USA. USA bailing the Europeans out again remember WW2. Why Euros stronger than the Dollar?

Here we go again.........we were not equiped, nor manned well enough to do the job we were tasked to do, we let the fat cats fight the fight and not the war fighters. We however the limbless and walking wounded do not wish to "cut and run" I hate that phrase. It takes away from our brothers in arms. So when the Grunts are called home by a Government that had no plan to extract us in one piece, then i think what you say will come to pass. We needed to slow down and send the Special forces in and let them train the locals. I mean why the hell do we train to train the locals and then not use this valuable local intell, and harbor the local distain for the **** heads?

if we left right after the election it would have made it easier for Iran or Syria to set up a puppet and overtake the election results. at least this way they will have a little more work to accomplish their plans when we cut and run as you put it. Giving more power and capital to either of these groups is a colossal travesty. you will see I'm sure. For every unfortunate American soldier that died in Iraq now has saved a lot more in the war we are going to have to wage very soon. Remember what happened when we aloud the Germans to get entrenched in Poland and France? you have to fight your way to the middle we are about to give up ground and it will cost us very soon.
