Everyday, there is a new horrifying story of how someone has killed their child. From leaving the alone in garage for days to stuffing a 3 month in the microwave. These are actual headlines from a small town in Ohio I live in. It truly turns my stomach to listen to the stories, and I wonder what's wrong with these people. Who can do that to a child without a conscious. If these women don't want/ can't take care of/don't know how, there is help. You can even walk into a medical facility, fire station, police station and practically any where else and hand over an unwanted newborn, no questions asked! Yet women still, leave them in the dumpsters. Like trash.
I wish I could watch the news just once without weeping for the lost innocents and innocense.

Society causes this to happen because of the issues with adoption and abortion. The person feels they have no option without backlash.

If a person does not wish to carry a baby full term they should be allowed LEGALLY to terminate it regardless.

If the person wishes to give the baby up for adoption the files should be available so that the child or parent can reconnect or medical info can be located.

If the person feels they cannot choose either option because of fear or whatever then they should be allowed to take the baby to a church, fire station or hospital without any charges being filed or any backlash whatsoever. Most of these people are drug addicts or too young to make the decision.

I hate seeing those news stories and hate it more when they say the person was scared or didn't know what to do. Society causes this problem and if the first two choices bothers society then they need to open up other option that offer less problems for the affected person and ultimately helps the children.

I agree that it's sad that such an idustrialized country like ours has such a dramatic rate of infanticide. IMO, people are still stigmatized with the idea of every woman having to be the perfect mother, when it isn't a realistic thing. There are mothers that are mentally ill, on drugs, are acoholics, are homeless and society still overlooks these people with a wagging finger that it's just all their fault. No, we cannot stop these things from occuring. But, we, as a society, know that we should be helping one another to prevent such sad things from happening again.

I thought I've heard it all but did you see CNN yesterday where this lady microwaved her 3 week old baby? Now I think I've heard everything.

Yeah, it's ridiculous.... I can't believe the lady who microwaved her baby. I also heard she is suing the microwave company b/c they didn't have a sticker on the microwave saying you can't microwave babies!!!!
