Please help!!! I've been trying to do this for a long time, but I finally broke down and had to ask. How do you use wireless networking in general? (If that's an eaiser question!)

This is simple...
In order to use the Wireless Internet ( Wifi) , you need a wifi card installed on your laptop or PC. most new laptops have built in Wifi.
If you have a card then you need to configure it.
Call the help desk and get the " SSID ". You need this to configure the network. Then Go to Control Panel > Use the " Wireless Network Setup Wizard " and Put the SSID and click next. The Wizard should automatically do everything.
Use the net with ease.

If your laptop has a wireless connection, and you are connected to the wireless connection, you need to go to control panel -> network and internet connections -> internet options -> go to the connections tab -> in the middle there should be three options:
Never dial a connection
Dial whenever a network connection is not present
Always dial my default connection
Change this to Never dial a connection, and when you get back home, change this back to Always dial my default connection.

If it's popping up asking you to dial up, that says to me that you probably have a dial up connection at home so you might not have the wireless capabilites on your computer to be able to take advantage of the internet at the hotels. You'll need a wireless card to be able to surf from the hotels.

4. Click on
5. Click on the plus sign next to
6. Right Click on and click on
And if you need to use your dial-up connection again just repeat steps 1 to 5 and just right click on the and click

I had a similar problem a few months ago. I got the login and password but I couldn't connect. I had the front desk put me in touch with someone at the service provider's local office, and he walked me through it. One of my computer's settings was the problem, and I don't remember what that was, but next time, get the desk to connect you to the service proivder, and I'm sure you won't be the first person to call them with that problem.

in the journey that your router has an information superhighway portal you'll get entry to (i.e. to finish config stuff), then see in case you'll get entry to that from the XP device. in case you are able to, it is going to a minimum of allow you to recognize that the instantaneous is operating. i might want to also attempt plugging an ethernet cable out of your XP device into your router and gaining access to the internet that way. in case you are able to not benefit information superhighway acces, then the placement isn't your instantaneous in protecting with se, yet another decrease. wish this permits slender it down.
