In my situation, love is bittersweet. My boyfriend of almost 2 years lives 90 miles away and between college and a full time job, we don't see eachother but around once a month. It's really hard to keep up a long distance relationship but I love him and he loves me and when I get to see him, the wait is worth it. So love isn't only sweet, it is because of the bitterness that makes it even sweeter. Good luck in love!

Well... love to me is very broad, because there is many kinds. Perfect love is unconditional. Most people are not unconditional lovers like God is. What most people think of love in America they automatically think of it as physical...sex, kisses, hugs. these are just physical acts that don't represent true love... they can be faked.
Love shouldn't be fake but a real emotion like fear, joy, patience. Love is hard to comprehend for a teenage boy, but that's the best thing I can say without getting annoying.
Oh... wait a story. A guy and a girl are going out and the guy is a jerk. then there is another guy who is just a good friend. The jerk boyfriend tries to take advantage of the girl and the friend stop this. instead of taking advantage of the girl he let's her feel safe by talking to her, not going hollywood on her. yeah okay. That's love.

Great Q,,, Thanks.
"Endured" might be the most appropriate, defining word I've ever read to describe LOVE.
Actually there can be no right or wrong answers to "What is Love?" It differs individually, no matter what Webster says.
Beyond that,,, words are ill equipped to define it as accurately as emotions, which are also very personal and individual, and in various contexts,,,IE: I love my children,,, and I love Aldara,,, not at all in the same ways.
Some "keywords" I might consider are,,,
Acceptance
Tolerance
Understanding
Compromise
Kindness
Honesty
Devotion or Dedication
Commitment
Not in any specific order

I think for many people, love is elusive. Many of us have suffered more than we should have. The old saying "it's better to have loved and lost, than never loved at all" might be true, because lost love or unrequited love is bittersweet and painful, but not loving is a deep and hollow emptiness. At least pain is an emotion, not just an empty hunger.

Depends on what you love and/or who you love.
Love is sweet when it goes well unless it isn't supposed to go well.
Love is bitter when it is rejected or unreturned.
