I got the A+ Certification about 5 years ago. I used the A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide (gold book) written by Michael Meyers. A good practice book is A+ Certification Practice Questions Exam Cram (red book). I have also used both of those series to pass the Network+ and Security+ as well.
