There's a difference between simply denying a person a driver's license based on his/her age (which would be an example of prejudice) and denying that person a driver's license because, due to age, he/she can no longer safely drive (bad eyesight, bad hearing, poor reaction time, senility, etc.--that is not an example of prejudice). Other examples of prejudice might include:
1. Talking about an elderly person when he/she is right there, as if he/she isn't a capable person.
2. Not hiring the elderly simply because of their age
3. Not having an actual conversation with an elderly person but instead just humoring them by being all fake polite/upbeat/superficial

I don't really have any prejudices on old people, I just have some stereotypes made after I knew some old people. It would be a prejudice if I had opinons on them before I met any. And denying the elderly a drivers license may not be fair, but it's not the actual prejudice; it's discrimination.
That being said, what are some stereotypes about old people?
Can't drive, can't see/hear very well, bad memory, etc.

I think that a lot of the conceived prejudices on elderly are categorized wrong. Example drivers license is a test and usually for medical reasons they are refused. Many young people are also refused for medical reasons too. This is a safety concern not prejudice. Work place practices to hire elderly people and house elderly people can actually prejudice against young people by tying up jobs (if being held for elderly). There is also a problem where i live as there are a lot of condominiums for elderly. These condos are sold with a guarantee to be bought back at least for what you pay for them. Until recently my town had no condos for families and younger people who were single and didn't make enough for a house(Houses are expensive where I live) so in this way trying not to prejudice against elderly actually prejudiced against younger people. In my opinion there a lot of times when people think they are being prejudiced against when they are not. (where I live there is a large retired population so maybe we just take better care of the elderly here. My town is often described as newly wed or nearly dead)

As a senior, being denied a renewal of your drivers license is a good thing at some point. But the thing that bugs me the most is when people talk to us like we really not with it. Not all seniors are senile, we may be at the jumping off point in life, but we are not stupid.

I was just a few years shy of retirement when I lost my job in a resource action, several of the people I worked with in the same time framework lost their jobs.
I have a Master's degree and am now looking at working serving Fries and Burgers.
When someone has close to 25 years in a company, something should be done to protect them against this type of activty.

The elderly are not denied drivers license--not to the extent that they should be. At least in the state of Ohio.

i think of that Islam isn't any distinctive than Christianity replaced into in basic terms some centuries in the past. on an analogous time because it quite is real that maximum Muslims would possibly no longer disagree with the evaluations of what extremists have performed, they does no longer evaluate doing this themselves. very comparable to while Witch burning replaced into universal, the inquisitions have been occurring and the crusades have been occurring, maximum Christians might probable trust what their leaders have been doing and asserting, on an analogous time as they does no longer participate themselves. i might additionally upload that on an analogous time as the crusades have been occurring, the Muslims have been very compassionate in direction of different religions, it replaced into the Christians that have been doing the killing, the Muslims have been in basic terms protecting themselves from invasion. in fact the terrorist assaults that have been occurring of previous due, could be viewed as a retaliation of yank and eu help for the state of Israel, which replaced into created on land that belonged to Muslims. i do no longer help the strikes of the two edge, even even though it style of feels to me that maximum violence devoted by making use of Muslims is out of anger for some thing that replaced into taken from them, their land and homes. i do no longer help the violence, I in basic terms comprehend their anger. by making use of the way, i'm no longer Muslim, Jew, or Christian.
