I do not think Christmas is overrated. Times changed. Our standard of living has definitely improved due to education and better salary. So we can afford more. During our times, our parents are working very hard with their low education; their salary will be low too and has to feed their childrens. At least they give proper education to their children so as to lead a bettwer life than theirs. Christmas is about the spirit of giving and helping the poor. Happiness is subjective to individual and if you give the poor even a loaf of bread with some gravy, they will be very happy and you can see true happiness from their faces.

Christmas is the best time of the year. But with today's kids it is just how many gifts am I going to get. They dont care about the true meaning of Christmas. It was much better when I was a kid in the 50's , it is to commercial today. But it is still a great time of the year for us who remember all the past Christmas's.

I think Christmas is very overrated. In my opinion, it's original meaning has been watered down. I agree with you, its all about what you give and how much it costs. I can't stand to see ungratefulness especially when you scraped and planned to get that 'perfect gift.' I think we need to go back to that time when selfishness and greed isn't the driving theme of Christmas. Anyone else agree?

Today, in this world in this country, yes, the commercialism of Christmas is tweaked. Christmas is meant to be a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior. If you don't believe, then why even celebrate? If you do believe, then celebrate as if Jesus will be back any minute, and stop stressing about irrelevant, material, worthless treasures that will not follow you to Heaven. Lets make it about Jesus and not the false, mislead, sickening junk of the times we live in! Hallelujah! :)

Celebrating the true meaning of Christmas is not over-rated. However, the commercialization of Christmas by business and industry to make money is waaaay out of hand.

many people get greedy around christmas, including me. but they also become generous, so it pretty much evens out. and christmas is soo not just about presents and food and such, its about jesus and being with the ones you love.

Crhistmas is overrated. We spen our time celebrating what was a pagan holiday, till the catholic church declared it J.C.'s B-Day. The holiday should be banned.
