There are several categories of problems that might cause frequent urinations: there is a constant urge to pee because the bladder doesn't empty completely or the bladder wall or urinary tract are inflamed or irritated; the the kidneys are producing large volumes of urine; or the urine stream is partly obstructed. Frequent urination because bladders won't empty or from inflamed tissues in the bladder are commonly caused by a bladder or urinary tract infection(which usually includes itching or burning sensations). An enlarged prostate in males may diminish the urine stream, and require several urinations to empty the bladder. Increased urinary output from the kidneys can be caused by consuming caffeine or other diuretics, or as a result of a medical condition such as diabetes (as someone else mentioned in another post). These are just a few of the common causes causes. Is there a pattern . . . like maybe after drinking coffee or other caffeinated drinks, or taking medication like Excedrin that contains caffeine?

How frequently? once a day, twice a day, three times a day (me), 6 times a day, every hour during the day and 6 times at night. Well you have inherited a very small bladder, drink too much coffee and coke, have weak bladder muscles and can't hold on, anxious that you might not be able to go (pee shy) or more likely, the beginnings of diabetes. Go to your doctor. But be sure you can pee into the cup in front of the nurse. If you can't, then you will lose your case for frequent urination, serious or not.

Could be a lot of things. If it is that much of a problem that you are posting, you should see a doctor. It could be diabetes, a kidney problem, urinary infection, electrolyte imbalance or a few other things. If your body is producing excess urine, its usually a sign something is up, especially if its over a period of time and you are not taking in excessive amounts of liquid. It may also be nothing. If you are a woman, its not your prostate, mainly because you don't have one. If you did, prostate issues usually show up as retention problems, not frequency. I would see a doctor son. Get some tests and get a handle on it. If its nothing, no harm, but if it is something... early treatment can make all the difference in a lot of cases. Good Luck

Did you check for UTI (Urinary Tract Infections) ? Certain cysts/cystoceles also cause this. I doubt it would be an enlarged prostate at your age. But, I would recommend that you do see a qualified medical professional.

Get your sugar levels tested, both random and fasting. That may give you an answer.
