I don't think that's a fair assessment.
I've seen men fall apart while women keep it together amazingly well. I was an EMT and saw messy stuff, as you can imagine.
This isn't a man/woman thing. It's a people thing. Some folks are built for emergencies and some aren't.

When an emergency happens you still have to act. You do what has to be done and worry about the shakes and vomiting after its over. It's up to you how you respond but I can't let somebody be harmed by inaction so I do what I can.

In some cases.. My BF is a paramedic and can handle some tough things...
I guess men are taught to not show their emotions....
In general, I run around like a headless chicken....Every now and then I calm down and can see straight...

Gender is irrelevant in this question - you will get equal support for both sides FROM both sides.
Calmness, personality type, experience with emergencies, stress level, sleep deprivation... those would be appropriate variables.
