Your front disk brake pads could be worn down so that the metal is scraping on your rotors. If so you are going to need about $150 worth or rotors in addition to replacing the pads.If you are lucky the scraping is the metal wear tabs that rub to make a noise warning you that you are close to that happening. Either way get your brakes checked and repaired ASAP.

The brakes are the problem. Whats happening is that you brakes have a composite material that is placed on top of a metal backing. Whats happening is that either there is a unnormal wear in the brakes. The most likely cause of the screech is that the composite material has run out and the metal backing is scrapping against the rotors. This is bad, you should replace the brakes because you wont have full braking power and it will cost a lot more to replace the rotors and brakes at the same.

You need new brake pads, if you let it go to long you will need new brake calapers. Calapers cost alot more than just brake pads so you might want to get that fix asap. But if you have already new ones and they are making that noise then make sure you brake pads arent to tight on the calapers, you should be able to move the brake calapers on the front with the brakes not applied. Hope this helps.

Could be a couple things. Most obvious would be that you need new brakes. Pads may be wore down and now your scraping the rotors. If the brakes are newer then its possible a clip has come loose and it pushing against the rotor when you brake. Take it to a shop and get it looked at.

Screeeech .........I hope is referring to like a Squeal ? Most car brakes will make a little noise like that now and then depending on weather...rain, fog , snow etc...or dirt...or the Brake dust...the stuff that comes of the brake pads or shoes when you apply the brakes. There is a fix...of sorts.....there is a product that can be applied to back of your front brake pads( where the majority of noises come from ) ..Anti Squeal...appropriate name....the brake calipers have to be removed for the Anti Squeal to be applied. Hope I helped.

your brake pads have squekers installed on them to warn you that your brakes need to be replaces go down to auto zone you can get a good pair of pads from 30-40 dollars with a life time warrenty in which you have to turn your old ones in and they will give you new ones unless its allready metal to metal, i would change your pads before you have to change your rotors.

Your brake pads are worn out, if its a really LOUD screech, its metal on metal...and you need to get em replaced SOON before you need to replace the rotors too.
