slows down your computer?? hmm wow well i dont have that problem but i have windows xp maybe your computer just sucks try uninstalling and installing the IE7 over again. If that doesn't work then I recommend getting Mozilla Firefox at it's FREE and it's very secure. DON'T use the old version of Internet Explorer because it's not safe and secure, so hackers, spyware, and phishing are very common, and that could of messed up your computer, so you might want to get a good anti-virus, spyware scanner, and other security programs. For Anti-virus I recommend Norton or AVG. You can get the AVG Free Edition, it's FREE!

Yes, I don't like it either. I downloaded the Yahoo version of it, and it's totally taken over by Yahoo! I miss my links bar at the top of the page, and every once in a while the whole screen shakes like it's an earthquake in my monitor! I don't know how to go back to the old version of IE and apparently I'm too lazy to figure it out...

in straight forward words situation I truly have had because setting up IE 7 is my abode windows Defender software now no longer works... i imagine that is because the hot IE 7 has good factors that overlap with abode windows Defender. I truly have heard of quite some problems with it yet no longer a significant for the time of the board situation - it would want to have something to do with a software you run or somewhat of hardware - or an epidemic that IE 7 is preventing - have you ever finished a spy ware and AV test?
