Use at least two methods of birth control in case one fails.
There are tonnes of different methods, you should both make an appointment with a doctor to discuss your options.

The most reliable and foolproof are birthcontrol pills but you should discuss all the options with your Gynecologist for there are many. Also get a prescription for the Morning After Pill-suppose you get carried away and do not use protection thnthe next morning or as soon as you remember-directions will b explained to you-take the pill. This pill should not be taken daily. Its important you discuss all the options with your Gyncologist for can tell you most precisely the effectiveness of each one,the side effects if any and so on.In the meantime do not for only takes 1-time

Well, there are the obvious, abstenence, birth control (both a condom and the pill or shot), as well as tracking your period and avoiding the days you are ovulating. Look online for an ovulation tracker- there are free downloads! Just don't count on this as your only method! Good for you to be so proactive about it!!

BEST ADVICE... DON'T HAVE SEX.
THATS THE ONLY WAY TO BE SURE.
Birth control doesn't always work... meet my 3 year old. That was taking it everyday at the same time, never missing a dose!
The whole you can't get pregnant on your period is a line of crap too, I'm due with that one in January!
