The Old Yahoo TV was amazingly Simple, and awesome, now they completely ruined it.

Good Grief, what happened to the smart people who used to run Yahoo? Everything they've changed has stunk, on top of the fact they seem to be oblivious of the popularity of text (read:google) ads because of their fast load time and unobtrusiveness since they continue to plaster more and more annoying animated ads everywhere they can think.
They came up with a "new" chess that was awful, both functionally and technologically and repeatedly tried to "fix" it according to users complaints, completely overlooking the fact they just forked out a ton of dough for a piece of garbage that should have been clearly superior BEFORE presenting it. No surprise that the "new" chess has been replaced in less than ayear with something bombastically called the Da Vinci Code Chess.
What's incredible is that these fools are forgetting that the reason Yahoo became so popular was their stripped down, straightforward, super easy to use software. The marketing genuises have taken over and seem intent on proving they know how to ruin an internet giant.

The Yahoo TV Beta is terrible. If the TV listings stay as they are, I willl use my Windows Media Center listings and wont bother with Yahoo TV. If they want to find out how bad it is, they should allow users to return to the old interface and see what percent switches back.

I do think that there are some nice features now, but overall the new Yahoo TV beta STINKS!
First, having to log in is stupid. On the old version I could select my cable provider and I would still get the basic listings--which is handy since it was set as my home page. Now since I have to be logged on there is no reason to set it as my home page.
Also, the annoying "clicking" as each page loads is like a subliminal nails on chalkboard noise! Not to mention the delay as everything loads... I mean good thing I'm not on dial-up!
Add me to the people that want the old version back. That was really a case of aint broke, don't fix it.

sucks big time - the 800# listed above does not work and they mass switched us all with no way back.
Its getting so yahoo is totally unusable now I don't even home page it since they forced us out of the old version of the home page (for a while you could hit switch to old version but not anymore) and now they messed up the TV guide. If they screw up the mail and news sections next I will have no reason to ever visit yahoo at all.

add me to the list of people that can't believe they forced everyone to become a beta user without notification. I am a PAYING YAHOO EMAIL CUSTOMER, are they insane???? Beyond the interface change, the current beta is buggy and no where near ready. At the very least give your customers the option of switching back. The other option we have is finding a new portal which isn't that hard. Yahoo are you trying to lose your customer base????

I agree with you!!! I wrote to Yahoo! TV Help & this was the reply I got:
"Thank you for writing to Yahoo! TV.
We are continually working to make Yahoo! TV better. We have reviewed your feedback and appreciate your comments. Unfortunately at this time, the previous Yahoo! TV is not available.
We have updated our site with a fresh design, new content, and fun features.
Please know that your input is important to us and helps us to keep improving Yahoo! TV.
We invite you to take a look around our redesigned site. We hope you will enjoy the many new features."
Does anyone else see the irony of the situation? How can Yahoo release a BETA version, yet not make the old version still available while they work out the inevitable bugs in the beta version!?! Stupid, stupid, stupid!!!!!!!

I hate it as well. I have no idea what to do, where to go just to find out what is on. It keeps messing up over and over. Does anyone know any other listings that are easy to access? I want to get rid of what I have now. YAHOO....WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU THINKING????? WHAT YOU GAVE US, MAKE THAT AN OPTION AND GIVE ME BACK THE OLD VERSION OF THE LISTINGS!!!

I agree 100%
Yahoo has deteriorated in many ways, and to force a horrible Beta version on everyone is outrageous.
Worse, their customer service is appalling. I've dealt with them on several issues, and apparently all Yahoo reps are brain dead. They give scripted answers and send you in cirles for weeks before an issue is resolved.
Yahoo wake up!!!

It's nasty and amateurish, and even worse Yahoo seems indifferent to the backlash. Best to try Zap2It or TVGuide. If enough people drop Yahoo and they'll get it, but probably not before former users have been converted to other, actually useable, listing sites.

I am very disappointed in the new design. Why can't we get our clean, fast-opening, all-in-one-page view back? Let us vote with our configuration change choices. I, for one, won't be using the new one. Thanks to a previous poster I now know about zap2it.com's TV page, which I never would have needed without this change.
Interesting that I can switch back to "traditional view" with Yahoo groups messages, but not with their TV view.
