Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians; they teach that Christ was and is divine and of the same nature as God.

Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe!

Jehovah's Witnesses love and respect and honor Christ.

But Christmas does not celebrate Christ; it celebrates the pagan Saturnalia. Jesus was not even born in December. Nearly all so-called Christmas customs dishonor Christ.

By contrast, it's tragic that the one holiday Christ actually *DID* ask Christians to commemorate is entirely ignored by almost all of Christendom. It is, of course, the Memorial of Christ's death, sometimes called "the Last Supper" or "the Lord's Evening Meal".

(1 Corinthians 11:23-25, NWT) The Lord Jesus in the night in which he was going to be handed over took a loaf... Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” 25 He did likewise respecting the cup.. Keep doing this... in remembrance of me.”

(1 Cor 11:24, 25, NEB) "Do this as a memorial of me.”

Christ Jesus himself personally celebrated and explained the significance of that Last Supper to his followers (see Matthew 26:26-29). Christians who commemorate the Last Supper have done so on the same Jewish calendar date as Jesus did, Nisan 14, which generally falls between late March and mid-April. Interestingly, Christians in the centuries immediately after Christ's impalement were sometimes called "Quartodecimans" which literally mean "Fourteen-ers", because the early Christians were well-known for this true holy day.

How would Jesus feel to learn that the holiday he commanded was widely ignored, while his so-called followers chose to celebrate a pagan false god and their own traditions of men? We don't need to wonder.

(Matthew 15:6-9) You have made the word of God invalid because of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites, Isaiah aptly prophesied about you when he said, 8 ‘This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me. 9 It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines.’”

Just to set the record straight, :-)

As to why we don't celebrate Christmas.

We do believe that that Christ came, lived and died for our salvation.

We do believe that Christ is our Lord and Master.

We do believe that Christ is the Son of God, and that every knee should bend to him.

We don't believe in the trinity.

We don't celebrate christmas, because you can't find it in the bible. Yes Jesus was born
Yes he was born in Bethleham, but did you know that the "wise men" came when Jesus was living in a house and was almost 2 years old?

Did you know that everything from the Dec. 25, to St. Nick to the tree, to giving gifts are pagan

Did you know that Paul said christians should not touch any religious practice if it is linked to pagan celebrations (2 Cor chapter 6:14 to 18)

I hope this clears up any misinformation you may have heard.

all the traditions surrounding Christmas are taken from pagan fairs and teachings. The tree, the supplies, the three magi, the date is honestly the date of a pageant to the sunlight God. Even the manger scene is from a pagan custom. The sensible adult males weren't contemporary on the administrative. They got here later whilst Jesus replaced into very almost 2 years previous. the completed Christmas occasion is a slap interior the face to God and his son. devil loves it as quickly as we do all those issues. He makes Christmas look so beautiful and sentimental. otherwise, human beings does no longer celebrate it. If we celebrate this holiday, we are honestly celebrating to devil because of the fact he's the single that lures us into doing issues against God. could you like it if somebody you love threw a occasion on an afternoon that replaced into no longer your birthday? Then instructed quite everyone it replaced right into a occasion for you. Then did all the flaws you hate for individuals to do. Even provide presents to others and occasion and function a sturdy time. Get inebriated and consume too plenty. How is that honoring God and his Son?

Jehovah's Witnesses do believe in Jesus Christ and he is the Son of God (Jehovah)
We do not celebrate Christmas because it is of pagan origin.

Go to any encyclopedia and look up Christmas or look it up on the web and you will find the origin of Christmas.

The better question is why do you observe something not promoted in the Bible by Christ? When you're done with that, ask yourself what day do you observe the memorial on? Do you observe it on the day Christ said to? Do you know what day that is? If not, than ask yourself why to observe a day Christ did not promote, but ignore the one day he did?

That's the #1 difference. Jehovah's Witnesses celebrate Christ every day. They follow his teachings every day, and not just on Sundays and holidays. They do what he said to do in all things, and the don't assume that because he did not specifically say not to do soemting, that it is okay.

It is based on pagan worship. Most people believe that Jesus was born on Christmas day, but if you study geography, Jerusalem during the month of December was snowing. I don't think the wise men would be out at that time of night

God commands Christians to only give our worship to Him alone.

I may be wrong, but here is my guess:
Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, but they believe the lord has not yet come to earth. The messiah has not yet come.

My apologies to the witnesses if i am wrong, but I think that's how it goes.
Christians believe that Jesus came and lived and died for our sins, but they believe our saviour has not yet walked this earth...but he's coming!

it's kind of asking why jews don't celebrate it or why muslims don't celebrate it or why hindus or buddhists don't celebrate it.
their religion teaches that it is not something to be celebrated.
same with birthdays.
