Lately, people that I make friendships with are sooo fake. They are two-faced yet they act so nice that you would never know. they don't say what's on their mind. you just see their facial expression which says it all. I have 2 "real" friends but the rest are fake. do i leave my fake friends and have less friends or do i just go along with their behavior? It's also hard for me to make new friends since there's a lot of cliques so its hard to get into their circle b/c it looks like i "all of the sudden" want to hang with them. what should i do????

when i first met them they weren't like that. as i hanged out with them more i started to notice these things. im not a two-faced person. i haven't talked bad about them to anyone. they talk about each other behind their backs and i feel that they do the same to me. i hang with them so that i won't be by myself, yet its hard to find another group of friends. i just wanted to make this clear.

You're lucky to even have two real friends.

It has been my experience that "real friends" grow up together and have history. People you meet after that are usually going to give you superficial relationships. Someone you might share something in common with and an occasional good person to hang out with now and then. Most folk you meet later in life have already made their bonds too. Not saying that you won't be able to find new close friends, just that it's not as likely. Be glad you have the "two real friends". Why do you keep raking through coals when you have already found two diamonds?

Wow, you think you need "true" friends. Have you asked yourself if you are a "true" friend yourself? I can't think of anyone who would be judging and complaining that their friends are fake all the while you talk about them behind their back.
Why don't you give them the benefit of the doubt and just love them for who they are? I'm sure they still like you and stay quiet because they don't always agree with you but they are being polite.
It's hard for people to make friends when you are too judgmental of others. Friends love you for who you are even if you aren't perfect.

i found most of my real friends when i was little and we still are best friends. Recently I have found another by dorming with them in college and another from going to Alaska for 4months working on a glacier (you get very close to ppl when there arnt many around) Get a cool job that relies on others, be a real friend to others, and spend time with your friends, the more you spend the better your friendship will be or the easier it will be to weed out the fake ones.

As long as you are real, the good ones will see this. You can have many different types of Friends from every click. After you get to know some one you can modify who is in your inner circle ( close Friends). outer circle,(acquaintances you say hi to,people in your class..etc. Just don't be a hater.

If the people you make friends with are two faced and "fake" then maybe you need to take a look at yourself in the mirror, ever hear the saying "birds of a feather flock together"?

As a Brazilian Immigrant... I had trouble fitting in with the conservitive American culture. I finally made "friends" but they only liked me because of my looks, and they came to my house and they automatically judged me. They stopped talking to me. I found that being yourself is the best thing to do. I finally made friends and when they came over they still hung with me and they never casted any 'stone'.
