I mean I'm extremely conservative yet I'm atheist and believe in the legalization of Marijuana as well as prostitution... does that make me a Libertarian?

Look up the party platforms for each party. Consider that these are generally accepted. These are not 100%. You can and will vary from these. Traditionally you associate with the one that is closest to the values you hold. The other group associate with the one which has a history with them. An example is a person who is Democrat because that is what his parent's were. He may have no idea what the party stands for. Another is members of the Black race tended to be Republicans after the Civil War because that was the party which helped make slavery illegal. Today, that same race tends to associate with Democrats for much the same reason...civil rights issues. Who knows what will happen in 50 years?
In short, check the party platforms. Not all members of the African American race are Democrats, but that is the trend. Just goes to show a variance. You can vary too. I would have used another race as an example, but my knowledge of other races in American politics is too limited.

It makes you human, but you can't be an atheist and believe in god at the same time.
Marijuana was legal during prohibition and the U.S. Govt. grows, processes, packages and distributes marijuana cigarettes to people for medicinal purposes only after going through a rigorous process to determine if you qualify of not.
When I first heard about the Libertarian Party,I think they were for getting govt. out of the lives of the people and allowing the people to do as they pleased as long as it didn't hurt anyone.
Don't see anything wrong with legalized prostitution. The pros will have a safe, clean working environment. The clients could be screened on site for STDs and HIV,but then the Mafia would oppose it because you'd be taking money from them and our congresspersons won't have any privacy because the news media would have them all staked out and want to know what kind of activities they are engaging in.

You sure sound Libertarian. I am a big time Libertarian Christian believer but I believe in the same things you do--legalize drugs, prostitution, etc for adults. The government needs to get out of the business of controlling these areas and instead focus on protecting people from theft, vioent crime, and provide defense, getting off our backs with all their excess rules, regulations and taxes that smother us.

I am with you on those things except legalizing whore houses.

I always vote straight Republican.

Plus I am gay.

You can't put people in boxes. There is no such thing as a 100 percent normal person.

I hope you are not the Christian bashing type of atheist. I respect people's religious beliefs and so shouldn't you young man!

The religous right are much more right than wrong.

People need a moral compass today and Church is a good place for lots of folks seeking answers.

The difference is only at the extremes of the parties. In the big picture, beyond the rhetoric and name calling, there really ain't a whole lot of difference.
You are doing what you should be doing. Judge issues on their own merit and what you personally believe and not by what you think fits a political parties mold.

And never ever listen to my show you maggot infested dope smoker ;-)
All pills should be legal without prescriptions!!!!

Remember that a Libertarian is NOT a Democrat. they are Libertarians. There are many branches of the Libertarian Party, including a conservative with liberal social issues part.

It means you think for yourself, and don't follow any particular ideology. It has always been, and will always be, a mistake to try and label every person in the world to make them fit a particular mold. 99% may fit a mold, but it's the 1% that drags the rest of humanity forward along the evolutionary path.

Otherwise known as a 'free thinker.' Good for you.

Or a liberal. True conservatives believe in God Almighty and are against immorality. Unfortunately there are some republicans that lack that, therefore they are not truly conservative.

From what I've read on these boards, all Republicans want to sell the citizens to major corporations and all Democrats are secretly Communists who hate America.
