A friend of mine was teasing me about how if i drink coffee/ice coffee(i loooove ice coffee), i'll shrink or stop growing. She keeps saying "Oh you won't grow like me!". I actually don't want to reach her height, lol. 5'4 is okie with me! (but i'll probably be 5'5 or so). I just wanted to know "does coffee affect your height?"

I have heard that same thing since I was 10. My grandmother told me and told me, if you drink coffee it will stunt your growth. I never drank it and grew to 5'7. My sister, younger than me, drank it all the time and grew to 5'10". It is an old wives' tale. Your genetics determine your height, not coffee.

Coffee has nothing to do with your height. It is mostly hereditary.
My Dad is 6' 4" My Mother is 5' 2". I am 5'4". I have 3 sisters and we are all pretty much the same height. I drink a lot of coffee, and tea.

I'm not aware that coffee stunts growth, although caffiene isn't really good for you...there are more healthy things you could be drinking...

"There is no compelling evidence that coffee stunts the growth of children, but as this article from Yahoo! Health points out, it's generally a bad idea to give kids caffeine. It can interfere with sleep habits, exacerbate hyperactivity, and contribute to dehydration. Caffeine is a diuretic, which means it causes the body to eliminate water. "

I have noticed that I'm an inch taller after a day that I've skipped coffee in the morning. But I'm only 3 foot 4 inches and 682 lbs.

I wouldn't know. I drink coffee every day, and I'm 5'7" (female, btw)
It might if you're young, though. I didn't start drinking coffee until I was 16.

how old are you for one? After you are all grown you won't stunt your growth. If you are still growing don't worry cuz I know someone who drank it his whole life and he's 6 foot 4.
