Try this site. Most good antivirus programs will delete malware. Boot up in safe mode and run your antivirus.
Also Ad-Aware Se Personal is good. Boot up in safe mode with networking and go here and download and install it:

The removal of "Popcorn" almost always requires a manual removal. Most if not all general-purpose anti-malware products such as Norton, AVG, Spybot etc. cannot remove it or even detect it.
Here is the manual procedure for the popcorn infection:
http://www.schrockinnovations.com/removepopcorn.php
After you are rid of the Popcorn pest, go to Windows Updates and download all critical updates for your comp. A properly updated and patched computer would have had little chance of catching an infection such as Popcorn without a specific download, which you say is not the case.
Good luck!

Try uninstalling it from the Control Panel. Then run an anti-spyware program. You might even run some anti-viral s/w as well. No one should force you to purchase a program you don't want.

As "lab" said, try spy-bot search & destroy.
Lavasoft's Ad-aware is also a good program for getting rid of spyware.
You can try to remove it manually.
Click the start menu, click "Run"
Type in "MSCONFIG" and click ok,.
Click the startup tab.
If you find anything with popcorn in that list, then disable it.
