Hi, I will be visiting Kuantan for my first time ever in Dec.. May I know what are the places of interest, what can I do over there and etc, especially during this season? And what should I watch out for, temperature, clothing etc.. Thanks very much!

first stop is the Cherating Beach. very beautiful and a short trip from the city centre.
should you happen to be an avid windsurfer, Balok Beach is a must go. it is an international windsurfing beach and has worldclass amenities.
then, taste some local delicacies at Beserah Beach. the place is famous for its salted fish.
also, go to Chendor Beach as it used to be the site for turtles laying eggs, though no longer.but still a nice place to go.
of you have time, visit Lake Chini. it is the site of ancient myths and the view is nonetheless spectacular. take note, its about 100km from city centre, so a trip there will hold you back at least a day. but still worth is though.
dont buy your groceries from normal stores, it can be quite expensive. shop at Kinta Shopping Complex or The Mall; the taxi driver knows where is it. there's quite a number of shops selling apparel and branded stuff. a good place to shop.
overall, Kuantan is hot and humid, so thin breathable shirts, pants and shoes would be best. temperature is 27-32 celcius, and expect daily heavy downpours as it is the rainy season. nothing much to watch out for, just choose a reliably tour guide to bring you around.

places of interest - teluk chempedak beach, kuantan town along the kuantan river for food & souvenirs
you may expect rain in december - raincoat, umbrella, long rubber boots.
