A man wearing a black trench coat approaches you in a park, shows you a small box with a happy face button. He tells you if you press the happy face, someone that you don't know somewhere will disappear and you will receive $1 million dollars. You wonder if you accept, will he make the same offer to someone else, and you disappear. He assures you that this box is one of a kind and will be destroyed once you press it, no one will be the wiser and you walk a way with a million. But if you don't press it, he'll make this same offer to someone else, and you might disappear, unless the next person doesn't press it either. What do you do?

considering that absolutely someone WILL press this button, i would definately press it. it may seem selfish to be the one who presses it BUT take into consideration that no matter what, SOMEBODY will answer yes and press that button, so somebody is going to get destroyed no doubt about it, so it really boils down to, either you get a million dollars, or you give it to someone else, you cannot save the person. and to attempt to lift the weight from my concious, I would tell myself that the person who disappears could have been a suffering cancer victim who was to die within the week or one of the millions of people in the world whom truly wishes they were dead.

This question makes me ill. I'd probably press it. The money isn't the reason. Not only would I be afraid for my own life but I'd be afraid someone I loved might end up disappearing if someone else pressed it. I still don't think I'd trust the guy that the box was one of a kind though.

It's really hard. The question is self centered. It seems like I'm thinking of only myself... What if I press it then the person that might disappear might be a family member of mine... But if others would press it the same might happen and that would include me huh? I think I'll press it.....

This is a horrible question . I'm going to stay away from all men with black trench coats .
The truth is you have a decision to save yourself or a stranger ,
Human nature says push the button .

Interesting theoretical question. I wouldn't do it. What about the (disappearing)person's family and pets? That would be hard for them. So its wrong.

Out of curiosity, I would press it.

You know, for kicks.
