Starting with the 50's: Elvis, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly & Jerry Lee Lewis. Continuing on to The Beatles, The Stones, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Janis Joplin, The Bee Gees, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Elton John, KISS, AC/DC, Bruce Springstein, Aerosmith, Electric Light Orchestra & Queen.
There's 20 of the Individuals, Bands & Groups who influenced Rock from the beginning. It started in the 50's as Rock a billy & Rock & roll. Each & every one had a sound of there own with the diversity & style to be unique. Keep in mind we have yet to mention artists like Cash, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder etc. Because even though they were'nt considered rock they still had an amazing influence. Rock gave us what we needed from adolecence to adulthood. A connection to the world, the style of clothing we wore & the way we wore our hair. They were the outlet that allowed us to rebel against society, our teachers & our parents. They gave us music to dance to, music to heal the pain of a love gone wrong & music to rock our very souls. They were our support group to get us through to the next milestone of our lives & most of all they have given us memories. Where would you place the likes of ZZTop, David Bowie or Bon Jovi. It's an endless list of unique people & various sounds that influenced the stages of our lives. The music has endured the test of time & so have the memories. Rock will never die. It lives in our hearts & in our souls. It's Our culture. It's our heritage. It's our music!!!!
