High school was dumb. I hated the "prissy girls" going around and showing off their body which probably was dirty anyways, I didn't like the rapsters or hiphopters coming around and calling us "n" words, I didn't like the cliques of popular people. I belonged to the outcasts of high school, and people thought that was a bad place to be, but I like that better than being fake and stupid.
I still, to this day, hate how everyone has to have gold-plated teeth at 18 years old, or cubic zirconia ear rings or gold-plated silver necklace "chains" because of that one mainstream dude who can't sing and choreographically dances to something that makes him look like he's having a seizure.
I remained with the heavy metal group of people because heavy metal is better than any other music out there. Mainstream is dumb too.

Only sort of. Mine was like you say, a bunch of kids going to class together. There are only partially formed "groups." The "preps" sit at one table at lunch, the "gothics" at the other. We also have quite a bit of a punk group. There isn't really a definite "loser group," they mostly just have their own little groups of 3-5 people that they always hang out with.

In a way yes. We had definite groups and places for those groups. We had the band hall, burn out city, Soccer jocks, popular intellectual hall, christian cafeteria, etc. You definitely knew if you were in the wrong place trying to hang out.
And of course there was the "Regina George" and her plastics, but we didn't call them that. I think most of us wanted to push her in front of a bus too:)We even had to "chats" with the school councilors and principals. We had an assembly for girls, but no trust fall.

as an "old guy", im sure things were a little different for me, but i went to school in the late 70's and if you have ever seen the movie "Dazed and Confused", it is scary how much it was exactly like that. it was if i had written the script myself from my own experiences. i love that movie!!

Hmmm. Let me see... All I can't think of is the Popular ones versus the Unpopular ones. To bad I'm part of the Unpopular ones.

Yes...my high school was much like The Breakfast Club! I don't know of a school that isn't. It's human nature to classify and "clique".
