I am 5w5d pregnant. This is my 12th pregnancy, I have lost nine babies and have 2 children.

I have been spotting for the last day or two. My hcg is still doubling normally and the ultrasound showed a baby measuring 5w6d and a yolk sac, but still too early for heartbeat.

My doctor thinks everything will be fine ... but I need to know ... has anyone experienced bleeding in early pregnancy, and still gone on to have a baby? Or am I right in thinking this pregnancy will end, like the others?

I bled and/or spotted throughout most of my second pregnancy. When I first saw it, I panicked. But I bled enough through most of it to wear some type of pantyliner for the whole 9 months and every thing was fine. Given then fact that you've miscarried several babies, I would keep in close touch with your doctor. If your going to miscarry, which must be awful to have to go through again, there is really nothing you can do about it and all the worrying in the world isn't going to help that fact.

Every pregnancy is different just like every individual is different. Spotting during pregnancy really isn't an uncommon as our scared and paranoid minds lead us to believe. Many women experience spotting during pregnancy with no ill effects whatsoever.

In your case, given your high number of miscarriages, you'll probably want extra medical attention and I'm assuming your doctor already has you labeled as "high-risk" so that you can get immediate medical attention at a moment's notice. But please remember that even if the two pregnancies that you carried to term did not include spotting, that doesn't mean that the third one won't. The reproductive system has a personality all its own sometimes.

To answer your question, I did experience mild bleeding in early pregnancy along with cramping--as did my own mother and many of my friends. All of us carried those babies to term. Keep your chin up. You have two beautiful children and are on your way to having a third. Congratulations to you!

I'm so sorry for your loses, I can't imagine how hard that would be. While some bleeding in early pregnancy is not abnormal some bleeding is. If a pregnancy is meant to end, there is nothing you can do to stop it.
I assume that your doctor has ordered a myriad of tests have they found the reason for your multiple loses?

i had bleeding once a month for my entire first trimester and it was extremely scary but i am now 26 weeks pregnant and so far everything has been close to perfect and the baby is fine. My dr said that sometimes bleeding is normal it's something to do with the uterus. Best of luck.

yes. I just gave birth to my first child in August, after one heartbreaking miscarriage. I spotted on and off throughout my entire pregnancy. Every incidence of spotting should be reported to your doctor though, especially with your history of loss.

It's perfectly normal to have blood with a baby. I wish you the best of luck with you're baby!
