Well, you'd assume that fellow enthusiasts would agree - I doubt many others will, or even be qualified to judge.

complicated to assert, relies upon lots on my temper and much greater on which album. I commonly HATE lady vocals, yet Shirley is on of the few exceptions. she is an exceptionally great singer, for a girl. all of rubbish's albums are a minimum of ok, and the vocals are between the highlights. Marilyn Manson could be a genuine git at cases, and if we've been going by making use of maximum contemporary artwork Shirly could be the clean winner. He probable has much less making a music tallent than Shirley, yet his artwork - while it quite is solid - is greater thrilling. His first album - Portrait of an American relatives - is one among my all-time favourites, yet a great style of what i like approximately it quite is the instrumental stuff, which i do no longer think of he had that lots to do with. returned-in-the-day although his lyrics have been quite beautiful and he had an thrilling character he portraied. Now he seems to have taken it slightly some distance. in short - they're too distinctive to verify. It'[s no longer even comparing apples and oranges, greater like comparing apples and sausages.

Yes, only in the past few years, when I've heard Manson talk in interviews, etc., do I label him as brilliant. He is one of the few artists today, that is ahead of his time...
his popularity, I believe, has diminshed slightly since the Columbine shootings, the end of 90s grunge (Cobain suicide), G n R breakup...he came out at a time when record execs and mainstream America wanted happy pappy crap...Rock and roll was becoming too dangerous again for most parents to want their children to listen to...so we regressed to commercialism, not art. Trying to be Manson since then...in the midst of the Spice Girls, Britney, B.Boys...in the age of commerical industry (not art) in the music scene has just gone to show how far ahead he is compared to most other performers...he is dangerously real in his music and performance. A true artist that speaks volumes, and should be listened to.

Sorry, I don't get nor connect with his music.
In my opinon, Gary Numan goes way beyond in the studio & live.
I think he's been highly underrated for decades.
