Petunias LOVE the sun and dont do real well in the shade.

They can, but they don't do that well. They will have smaller blooms and tend to get really long, lanky flower stems. If you need a flower that looks good in the shade, try a Impatience. They come in a variety of colors and grow very well in the shade, in fact, if they get too much sun, they can wilt and in some cases die.

petunias can grow in the shade but they dont do well you need shade flowers to grow in the shade like impatients,hosta's,dead nettle,bell flowers columbine,foxglove there are many great flowers that do well in the shade!

Generally, I think not. They like full sun. But nowadays, there could be a rare variety that likes shade.
