I think they should be manditory for all schools. It allows all children to feel part of the school enviroment and allows them to be equal to their peers. It does not segregate the rich from the poor. Children will not be bullied for wearing cheap, old clothes if their parents can't afford the latest brands. It gives you a sense of unity and pride for your school. I went to a strict school with over the top uniform regulations but even now that I'm finished, I wouldn't have changed it if I could.

If you're talking schools, I think they are very cool. Not to many schools here have uniforms. My daughter is now in a catholic high school where they have uniforms and she LOVES it. I think it creates a spirit of comradery and asides from the security aspect of it (you can certainly tell a stranger on the property) it looks nice, there isn't the trashy looks that some girls wear...a certain amount of tact and respect is expected and everyone is on an equal playing ground...as far as the VISUAL goes...I think that is the most important part of it. Your flashy broads can't flash...they can save it till after school where it belongs, cause it doesn't belong IN the schools. School is for academics and growth and learning and spirit and team building...it's for preparation to function in society. A little discipline is a good thing and often lacks at home so at least they are getting some there in school.

No. It is important for people to come up with their own sense of style because in the real world, unless you work at a blue collar job, there are no such things as uniforms. Plus it teaches children to tolerate others and accept them even if they dress differently.

Ever notice when uniforms are mandatory, there is only one or two companies from whom you can buy the uniform?
I don't think they should be.
