Californication sold 15M units, the most they've ever sold

They've been around since 1988 or so, but didn't blow up until the mid 90's. Anthony Keidas and Flea are the only original members and were friends before they formed the group.
Their biggest album was "Californication", which had 3 hits on it, "Scar Tissue", "Californication" and "Around The World".

Formed in 1983, most commercially successful hit was "Californication". Technically they're still around, although it'd be hard to prove at the moment.

My personal favorite is "Knock Me Down", but I like that whole album (Mothers' Milk), but I also really recommend "Me & My Friends" and "Organic Anti-Beat Box Band" from Uplift MoFo Party Plan.

Were? they r still around, they made their first album in '83 or '84, and thier greatest album is Blood Sugar Sex Magik, but Californication is good and outsold BSSM and lama is right, scar tissue is thier biggest hit, staying on the charts for 16 weeks

As for their biggest hit that goes out to Scar Tissue, which is the most prestigous song in their book.
