It means, basically, the beach has enough sand as it is...it doesn't need any more. Like, if someone was whining to you about their problems, you might use this phase...as if to say, "I have enough problems of my own, I don't need yours too!"

If someone says that they are usually talking about men or women. Like, If someone is going to bring their girlfriend to a party their friend may say...don't bring sand to the beach because there will be enough women there. So why would u bring sand to the beach...hope that helps..because that's what it means.

try it this way...if you are looking for a girls, you go to a place where there is girls. You don;t bring a girl where there are going to be girls. So, it means don't bring what your are looking for. Its pointless and over kill
