It depends, many women will spot during pregnancy, but bleeding is not good. If you are early in your pregnancy and its brownish, it could be old blood leaving the uterus (making room for baby). If you are experiencing bright red, bright pink, or any clotting at all you should call your doctor immediately.

I just suffered a miscarriage a week ago, and I started out spotting 10 days prior to the miscarriage. I really would go to a doctor if I were you if just to be safe. The doctor can test your HCG levels through a BETA blood test. If your level's are high- then you shouldn't really worry. If they are low, then the doctor will monitor you and watch for a possible miscarriage. I hope this isn't the case for you.

Good luck with your pregnancy, and I will keep you in my thoughts

You give no details as to where you are at with your pregnancy. Early on (the 1st month) spotting may be attributable to the embryo implanting in the uterine wall. Some have even mistaken it for their period. This is very normal. This is not to say that you shouldn't contact your doctor ASAP.

Outside the first month any bleeding should be reported to your physician immediately and you should note if any clots, brownish discharge, or any tissue looking materials have passed. While I have heard of women who spot all during their pregnancy, this is not the norm.

My wife (a labor/delivery nurse) spotted from about week 7 - 10... she miscarried at week 11... we got pregnant again about 3-4 months later and now have a healthy 4 month old. Follow up with your physician or specialists for the best possible outcomes.

Yes. You can call your doctor and explain to them what is happening and they will give you an answer. But one day I had heavy bleeding like it was my period, while I was pregnant so I freaked out and called the doctor. It's normal and it went away in a few hours. :)

Sometimes the spotting is from the embryo implanting into your uterus if it is the first trimester. If it is late in your pregnancy then you may want to check with your doctor.

I would ask your doctor just to be sure but it is normally ok as long as there is no pain associated with it and as long as it doesn't become really heavy bleeding.

I think you should be asking your OB/GYN or Midwife about that. This forum is certainly not the place to ask an important question like that.
