someone close to you died and you couldn't face the move on the day of the funeral (that was what was expected for me to do) and after the trauma..then came the problem that you couldn't afford to move to that area as it was going to be expensive with funeral expenses adding to the problem.. would you condemn me for pulling out, even though you found an alternative move and the other person could still have the same house... it meant a multi house exchange but all would get what they wanted.. and I would have gotten an easier to maintain house that was affordable.. what would you do.. condemn me or help me?..

I lost over a thousand pounds because I had to pay the removers and for the new carpets that i didn't have in the end.. the other person didn't lose anything.. no cost at all.

I had found another move that involved a four way move that everyone could have the house they wanted in the area they wanted. I am very upset as it would have meant I could have looked after my autistic grandson in the new area to help my daughter, now I feel so let down by this person

Certainly wouldn't want to add to your worries mate by condemning you. Whats the big bugga if everyone gets what they want in the end? You did right by me if you didnt just force the issue and try to live beyond your means. Sorry about your losses love, monetary and otherwise.

Unfortunately, a house move is like a business transaction. Whilst people try to be nice to each other, they do have to look after their own business interests. On a conventional house purchase, everything becomes legally binding EVEN IF THE BUYER THEMSELF DIES. If a buyer pulls out after exchange of contracts, they are still liable for 10% of the purchase price as damages - even if they are dead (it would be taken out of their estate).

some people have no thought for others, what a awful time for you to have to move house, guess you are lucky that you only lost the money on the removers & carpets and not a lot in solicitors fees.

Good luck when you do move anyway
