Everytime I get out of my car after driving, I smell gas. I don't smell it on the inside, just when I get out. Does this mean that there is a possible gas leak? If so, how do I check to verify? If not, do you have any ideas on what it could be?

First just to eliminate the simple answers make sure your gas cap is tight. If it is then if you have someone to help you can have them cycle the key on and off. This engages the fuel pump each time you turn the key on for about 5 seconds. While they do that check to see where the smell is the strongest. If in the back look under the car for drips while the pump is on. If under the hood same thing check for anything spraying out or dripping when the key is on. Hope that helps. Good Luck and be carefull.

Yes you could possibly have a leak. The cardboard idea is a good one. But also check under the hood near the throttle boddy and if you can see check the intake manifold gasket.
Look under the car near the gas tank and see if your fuel filter is wet.
Another thing that can cause the smell of gas like that is a vacuum leak. Sounds weird but it's true.

If possible, shut off the gas on the pipe leading up to the stove and let things clear out. You might need a wrench. Usually you just turn a **** 90 degrees to shut it off. You probably just have a pilot out, but that's just a guess. If you're unfamiliar with gas stoves, I'd shut the gas off and find some one to show you the ropes. BTW, **** means a little handle like thingy that is also a word for a male chicken.

It sounds like you have a leak. Are there any drops of gas under your car? I would have it checked out with a mechanic.

put a clean piece of cardboard under the car over nite and look for stains in the morning.
also if the car is a little harder to start than usual, is a sisn of a leak, its harder to build up fuel pressure with a small leak
also different cars have differnt symptoms, you should list what kind of car u have!
