ok well he gets enough social from me everyday and i cant let him out cuz im not home during the day and by the time i get home its dark (seassional changes) and he always gets treats everyday like carrots, apples, toast(which they LOVE),hay and pellets so he has no reason to want to escape. and everytime i try to get him out he attacks me so we got heavy gloves so he wont bite me. he gave me a scar from biting me already. and im his fav he hates my mom and my sissys

I have a pair of rabbits and they are with me for the past 5 years.
how big is ur bunny's cage? Bunny's are very active animals, they need to stretch their legs every few hrs. The fact that its cooped up in one cage for a very long period might be making him very frustrated and irritated. If you cant keep him out since you are working, try getting him a bigger cage where in he has space to move around a lot! also.. make sure he has access to hay and water 24/7 ( 24 hrs/7 days a week) hay reduces the chances of him getting fat & unhealthy and water will help prevent dehydration. bunny's need a lot of love n effection. hope ur bunny feels better :) .

LoL my other bunny was like a Houdinni too! There is no way to train a rabbit not to escape, the best thing to do is keep on finding a way to lock the cage until you find the right one. Rabbits also sometimes escape to get more exercise, if that's the problem. They also do that to get more social contact, if so, then spend more time with your bunny. Good luck!

I was once read an article about letting rabbit enjoy their time in their cage. Try not to force them go into the cage as this will let them think that the cage is a prison for them. Let them come out and go in freely as they want so that they can call the cage as their home. On the other hand, put delicious food in the cage also help to train them not to escape. Let the rabbits feel that their home always provide them comfortable environment and delicious food.By then, you need not to chase them to go into their cage, they will go in by themselves. :P

You probably can't! We just use a clip to secure the cages so our bunnies can't escape. Once they learn how to get out they will continue to do it. If the environment is safe, put his cage where he can re-enter to get to his food and water. Make sure he can't come into contact with any poisons or dangerous objects. Bunnies are quite clever little creatures!

If he wants out he will try to get out, i don't really think you can train him otherwise. My parrot can get out of his cage so easily, so I have to clip his cage closed. i use a metal clip from the pet store. Its oval shaped and about an inch tall and screws closed. They are usually sold in the bird section and are often used for clipping toys to cages, but they work great for keeping cages closed too. Also, it might help if your bunny gets more out of cage time during the day.

try a different cage. You could try a large fish tank than there is no way he could unlock it and get out. Or you could try a paperclip on the door to keep it closed.
