maybe ICK.

When you fish had Ick/Ich it looks like someone has sprinkled them with salt. It is little teeny tiny specks of white. Most of the time these specks show up on the fins and tails first. They do not have a raised appearance and are flat against the fish. However, when they are covered with these in the advanced stages of Ick then they do have a raised look to them.
Ick/Ich is always present in your tank, in your fish. Stress is the main cause of Ick/Ich. Your fish can get stressed as a result of many things. I have found that Ick/Ich seems to show up most often when I add new fish to the tank. Almost every time I bring a fish home from the store and add them to a tank within a few days not only does the new fish develop Ick/Ich, but several of the other fish as well. Very frustrating.
use a product called Quick Cure by Aquarium Products with very good success. This seems to have worked the best for me. I tried Rid Ich once and had no luck with it.

I always use this for a full 14 days. Usually it does not take that long to cure it though. It is very important that you treat with the Ick/Ich medication for a full 14 days. The bottle says that it can cure Ick/Ich in 2 days, but it is best to continue the treatment for the 14 days. Ick/Ich is a parasite. The parasite lays eggs in your tank continually. The eggs that are laid will continue to hatch out for a full 14 days. By using Quick Cure for the full 14 days you will kill any of the newly hatched Ick/Ich parasites. This is the only real way to cure the Ick/Ich for good.

i'd recommend, at minimum, ten gallons in line with goldfish so as which will be a 40 gallon tank for 4 goldfish. larger is surely extra useful, fantastically even as it includes goldfish that are quite severe of their ability to create waste and pollute the tank they are in. better tanks provide better area for the fish, extra wiggle room for problems with water high quality and for this reason the fish will be a lot less lower than pressure, happier and in good structure. in case you could swing a fifty 5 gallon or 60 gallon your goldfish will love you for it and also you'll have an further uncomplicated time protecting a better tank's water parameters reliable. Tanks are truly severe priced fantastically as they get better. Glass is much more less costly than acrylic. The stand for the tank will also set you decrease back some. there is not any internet web site it truly is a reliable deal for fish tanks because the delivery rates on a fish tank are exorbitant. Your perfect guess is to purchase regionally. Ask round and seem for a sale!

Do they look like zits? Are they round, raised and white? Basically do they look like if you squeezed them they would pop? If so, then thats probably your male and he has reached sexual maturity. Nothing to worry about.
If they are blisters filled with a clear or yellowish fluid, or if they pop and turn into large sores, it could be a bacterial infection and you'll need to pick up an antibiotic at the pet store that treats bacterial infections in goldfish (NOT an Ick/Ich treatment).
It isn't ich (ick) unless it looks like small grains of salt, and that isn't what you described.
Wouldn't hurt to add a little aquarium salt to your aquarium though if you're worried about it (1 tablespoon per 5 gallons).

I gave my mother 2 pearlscales last year and they developed
blisters after she had had them for a while, I've kept and bred goldfish for 35 yrs and never seen the blisters before, we added
salt and maintained regular water changes, the blisters remain
and don't seem to be disabling or harmful in any way. Anybody else seen these before? What is it?

If there are any sharp objects or decor in the tank, like plastic or coral, it's possible they have rubbed up against this. If there are any objects like this in the tank, remove them, and if it doesn't start to clear up in a few days, you might want to take them to the vet. If you don't have any objects like that, and have been cleaning the tank properly, then you should really take them because it could be a disease or infection instead of just a simple irritation. good luck, I hope this helps.

Sounds like ick to me. You need to quickly get to the petstore talk to them, get ick medicine and see what else you need to do to clear up your tank. It will continue to spread and eventually kill the fish.
