This was inspired by the Oprah question that's featured about how you would help a stranger if you had a thousand dollars to spend on them. Realistically, the vast majority of us don't have and likely will never have a thousand dollars to spend on a stranger, so my question is: What can you do right now, for free of for a small amount of money, to help someone else?

It can be something like shoveling a friend's driveway or clearing snow off a neighbor's car, or donating old blankets to a shelter, or calling someone you haven't talked to in a long time. It can be a stranger, but it doesn't have to be.

So, what would you do? And if you have the chance, go do it!

one of the easiest things in the world, and ironically, so many people find it so difficult: to smile and greet someone in a courteous manner. it'll make the person feel like they're worth something, and sometimes it just may make their day. it takes about ten seconds out of your day to make someone feel a little glow of pleasure. not bad, huh?

I'm always thinking of others I share my food pantry with family. God blesses me to have an abundance of food so I call my family and share it with them. I went to a clothing shelter for some winter items they were giving away for free. I was blessed to get a quilt and some blankets and I gave it to family members that needed it. I love giving. Christ always blesses me and I will always continue to give. And since He knows my heart, I cannot begin to tell you how in return, my blessings are for me. Praise Jesus. I get high from helping... it's a joy unspeakable. The other day a homeless man was asking people for money outside a department store, now you know these people had change on them. I gave what I had left out of my change. It is not up to us to decide if this man was a liar or not. It could of been an angel testing us. I went to my car, told my brother to drive pass the man because deep down in my purse was a dollar bill and more change, I gave it to the man. God bless him.

I would go to a retirement home and sit and talk to lonely older people . Keep them company , play cards or take a walk .
I don't have any money as I'm recovering from an injury and can't work yet , but I could give my time and spread some love .

Well, I may not think myself being selfish, so I usually pressure myself to do these things.
I have offered my friend a ride for the black Friday sales.
I have gave away my lunch away to someone who forgot their lunch money.
I have opened the door for people.
I have let people pass and cut me in line in basketball tryouts.
I have let my sister use the computer, when I needed it for recreational use.

What I can do is to shovel my neighborhood's sidewalk, so people won't slip and fall (it is snowing heavily in my area).
I will try to do that as soon as possible, so thanks for the encouragement!
