They don't. You are confusing love for attraction, lust, having the hots for, a crush, etc. It isn't love.

Falling in love is easy because we all want to be accepted. Kind words, actions, thoughts...all of those things make you feel like you're loved. The feeling of love is powerful and most will do anything to keep.
If it's true love it doesn't just end.
Variables in life can change a person's feelings.
New job, added life stress, new location, new people or a better connection.
There are a million reasons why relationships end and why "love" dies.
In all honesty, if it was meant to last forever, if that person was ever really IN love with you, it doesn't just go away--it is forced out for something more convenient.

I don't remember anyone saying love was supposed to last forever. I mean, people say it, but they don't have any reason to believe it. People think they love someone, but they may only have surface feelings of other natures. People change, situations change, and love changes. That's the nature of it. I don't think love can be the same thing to everyone, and that's why people fall in and out, seemingly, so easily.

SOME people fall in and out of love easily because they become too involved too soon.

People are very fickle in all areas of life especiallly "love" Most people have the wrong perception of it. If you truly love someone you will know it is not a feeling. "falling out of love" wasn't that at all. It is about staying committed to something.

A lot of people get infatuations with people and think they are in love. What one person thinks is love could really only be an infatuation.
